This is why Delyan Peevski remains in the Bulgarian Parliament. The decision was stated for the media by its chaiman Mustafa Karadaya. But they both agreed – the decision was joint.
"On the basis of the meeting of our Central executive board and the Parliamentary group, as well as on the personal decision of Mr. Peevski, we all decided: he remains a member of the parliament here in Bulgaria. I will also file an application to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) that I also will not become a MEP. But we both will visit Brussels together”, said Karadaya.
Peevski was the second candidate in the list for the European elections of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms. After both Peevski and Karadaya desisted from their places in the EP, three MEPs are going in the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe group: Ilhan Kyuchuk and Iskra Mihaylova who were already MEPs in the former EP mandate, as well as the deputy head of the State Fund Agriculture – Atidze Alieva.
