There’s a low chance but it’s not my fault, said the MEP from “Democratic Bulgaria” party
The MEP Radan Kanev announced his willingness to work with the second person in the “Movement for Rights and Freedoms” Delyan Peevski – if he decides to go to Brussels as he is chosen to do.
"I haven’t had the honor to work with Mr. Peevski. The chances for that are too low, but this is not my fault”, admitted Kanev. The ex chairman of “Democrates for strong Bulgaria” is certain that the EP isn’t a place where national fractions should fight with each other.
"There are topics where our Bulgarian interest is clearly defined. This is the place where all 17 MEPs from Bulgaria should work together and if Mr. Peevski is one of them – so be it”, promised Radan Kanev.
A good example of such a topic is the Dublin regulation for the migrants in Europe – the Bulgarian position for this topic is unanimous. “No Bulgarian party would ever think differently so I hope we will work for giving Europe a direction for new politics towards illegal migration”, said the MEP.
Kanev admitted that he would hardly work with nationalists or eurosceptics as the socialists are. Although he will join GERB in the EPP political family, he admitted his criticism towards the ruling party will continue as always aiming at a change in the European right from within.
