The Movement for Rights and Freedoms offered that the VAT rates on bread, medicine and books is lower. They also suggested that kindergartens should be build with lower taxes for the parents. This was announced in the Parliament by Delyan Peevski. He attracted media’s attention on himself so that they don’t pay attention to the socialists coming back in the Plenary Hall after three months of desertion.
"We will introduce a proposal for reduction of the VAT rates on bread by 5%, we also consider that reduction for medicine and books. And kindergartens should be free”, said Peevski. His colleague Yordan Tsonev was amazed that the media wait for Peevski every day in the Parliament: “Are you going to wait for him every day? He is coming to the Parliament every day from now on”.
According to Peevski the Movement will discuss their proposals with the other political parties. “We will call for their support”, continued Peevski. The media didn’t pay attention to Tsonev and started running after Peevski. Meanwhile he tried to turn the attention back to Tsonev so that he explains in detail.
But Tsonev himself didn’t specify how much will be the reduction of the VAT rates on bread, medicine and books. In his opinion what is really important is that if the VAT rates are lowered – the prices will be reduced, too.
