The members of the parliament chose to receive less money from the government as the Council of ministers offered – from 11 leva it was lowered to 1 lev per vote. This was possible through the second reading of the changes in the State Budget Act. 119 members of the parliament voted FOR this change, 71 voted AGAINST it, 16 were abstainers.
All members of the parliament from GERB and Volya supported the change, as well as 16 from the Movement for Rights and Freedoms.
7 people from the party of the United Patriots voted FOR the change, 1 – AGAINST it and 15 people were abstainers. The whole parliamentary group “BSP for Bulgaria” voted AGAINST lowering the subsidies.
The decision of the Parliament will spare up to BGN 14.6 million until the end of 2019.
The majority declined the motion presented by the Movement for Rights and Freedoms that the subsidy is no more than BGN 0. They did not approve the motion presented by VMRO for BGN 1.5 million more for each party so it can function properly. The members of the parliament decided that the political parties will be able to take donations from people and the business with no limit.
