The Prosecutor’s office in Vidin brought an accusation for minor bodily harm against Georgi Georgiev, the head of the NGO “Boec” after attacking a crew from Channel 3 on June 5, 2019 in Vidin.
Three of our colleagues visited Vidin for an investigation on the activity and funds of the NGO “BOEC”, which has declared only BGN 447 income. During our attempts to find the truth, Georgi Georgiev in his state of nervosity attacked our crew.

The Director of Programming of Channel 3 Iva Stoyanova lodged a complaint to the Prosecutor’s office on June 26, 2019. It concerned the attack over a crew of the television on June 5, 2019 in Vidin, conducted by the head of the NGO “BOEC” Georgi Georgiev. All the documents are sent to the Prosecutor’s office in Vidin, who is in competence.
The Prosecutor’s office in Vidin started a pre-trial procedure was started by an enactment. He will be accused of hooliganism / under Article 325 (1) from the Criminal code/ and of doing bodily harm /under Article 131 (1) (12) in relation to Article 130 (2) from the Criminal code/.
During the investigation some documents have been demanded and enclosed, interrogations of witnesses and the victims have been conducted, audio records of complaints lodged to 112 have been required and received. The Prosecutor’s office in Vidin has also received information from the Regional directorate of the Internal Ministry for on-site verifications and addresses visited after the complaint. There are medical specialists’ reports for the kind of bodily harm conducted to the victims. Georgi Georgiev is accused for conducting indecent acts, disturbing the peace and showing disrespect to the society by cursing, insulting the crew of Channel 3 on Juna 5, 2019, as well as hitting with his leg the groin and with his arm the face of P.N.P. – a reporter in Channel 3 TV. This action is defined as a crime under Article 235 (1) from the Criminal code.
Georgi Georgiev is also criminally responsible for conducting minor bodily harm to employees of Channel 3 TV as an act of hooliganism – two crimes under the Article 131 (1) (12) in relation to Article 130 (2) from the Criminal code.
T.V.G. is also a victim of the attack – he was hit in the left cheek-bone, which is swollen and turned red. P.N.P. – a reporter in Channel 3 TV – has a bruise in his right temporal bone, which is also swollen and turned red. Both bruises of the employees of Channel 3 TV resulted in pain and suffering.
Georgi Georgiev is out of the prison with a measure of imprisonment.
