"Long ago I started thinking about whether I make a nuisance of people – it’s been 14 years. Having in mind the tension gathering aroung BFU, I decided to ease it by resigning”, said Mihaylov.
"We have done our job regarding the organisation of this football event. The hysteria came from England so I sent two letters – one to the English federation and another – to UEFA”, continued Mihaylov. “I have told you at least 20 times – BFU is a regulator but football is formed up in the teams. Nothing shameful happened to me personally – I wasn’t a goal keeper and 6 goals didn’t finish in my net. I actually don’t personally know all players in the national team of England. Even Balakov doesn’t recognise them all because many people were injured”, added Borislav MIhaylov. He categorically denied that there is a way to fix football results for gambling in Bulgaria. In Mihaylov’s words the poor results of the Bulgarian national team have nothing to do with him as a president of the BFU.
