The Judges’ College in the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) voted for disciplinary proceedings against Judge Andon Mitalov with 7 votes in favor and 4 against it.
The Judicial Minister Danail Kirilov suggested that Mitalov should be dismissed.
The Judges’ College refused to put forward a final decision on the inquiry of Kirilov a week ago. They insisted on providing evidences that Mitalov committed such crimes. The Judicial Minister gave substance to his inquiry by adding evidences so that the Judges’ College could give their final decision.
According to Danail Kirilov, Andon Mitalov broke his official duties and undermined the Judiciary’ authority by giving Nikolay Malinov the permission to travel to Moscow in order to be awarded by the Russian President Vladimir Putin with a prize.
