No charter flights to our Black sea resorts from June 15 on were cancelled, added Angelkova
No charter flights to Varna or Burgas from June 15 on were cancelled - pointed out the Minister of Tourism Nikolina Angelkova after meeting mayors of Black sea resort cities and tourism representatives.
"If the pandemic allows our plan to happen, the summer tourism can start from July 1 on. But if all the antiepidemic measures are strictly followed, summer 2020 season can start earlier – no later than the beginning of June.
There are discussions with our neighboring countries with similar number of infected people so that borders can be opened sooner for their citizens than for others – in the beginning of June, continued Angelkova.
If a foreigner gets infected with COVID-19 in a Bulgarian hotel, he will spend the next 14 days in his room or will be hospitalized if needed. The approved travel declaration is a great help for owners of hotels. “If someone gets infected with COVID-19, not the hotel, but his health insurance or the guest himself foots the bill”, added the Minister.
Concessioners of beaches will have to keep a sharp eye on people in order to keep them safe and distanced.
“We are negotiating stage-by-stage opening of borders with our neighboring countries, as well as with Germany, Poland, Czech, Slovakia and the Scandinavian countries. People from our neighboring countries can visit us by car which is the safest way”, continued Angelkova.
