Boyko Borissov made an announcement in his profile in Facebook.
"I respect all people on the streets, we have met before. But they don’t abide the rules concerning COVID-19. Why then should we impose new measures against the coronavirus”, asked the PM.
He expressed his forecast for the economic future of the state. “Incomes will decrease. Awful months are coming ahead us. Even awful years. And elections are coming in a few months. But what I see today is that Radev doesn’t care about blood shed among policemen. Hate speech will not improve people’s lives”.
"So why should we resign? We have built so much in the last years. Bulgaria is a leader in the EU when it comes to handling COVID-19. But what truly keeps us in the government is the real danger that the state can be “broken” by the opposition”, continued Borissov.
He made an appeal to the demonstrants not to attack the police: “Please do not heart these boys and girls. They are paid in order to stay there and keep you safe. Don’t shed anyone’s blood, keep the others safe”.
