Hospitals and medical workers are ready to heal or diagnose more COVID-19 cases. They have the required equipment and beds for intensive care, the Health Minister Prof. Kostadin Angelov pointed out in a meeting with the PM Boyko Borisov.
In Prof. Angelov’s opinion there is a good coordination between the units in the health system. Borissov was clear: there is no need of new restrictions.
"We will not stop companies from working or ask people to stay at home. Hospitals are able to handle the pressure”, continued the PM.
According to Borissov, Kostadinov and Angel Kunchev there is no need of imposing a state of emergency because of COVID-19 spread.
Discipline, distance and disinfection remain key factors in the fight with the coronavirus as there isn’t a cure or a vaccine yet.
The Health Minister put a stress on the new centers of infection – in homes of the elderly in Ruse and Varna.
The Chief State Health Inspector Angel Kunchev pointed out that Greece is the only country on the Balkans with less new cases of COVID-19. “We have managed to restrict the coronavirus spread with the softest and well-timed measures”, added Boyko Borissov.
The PM insisted on strictly following whether the health workers and others working on the first-line are paid additionally for their help in the fight with COVID-19.
