The aim of such debates is to convince at least 121 MPs to sign for the submission of the draft.
The head of the National Assembly – Tsveta Karayancheva – was in Zlatograd to consecrate the monument of the brave young Momchil.
GERB will discuss their draft for changes in the document with all political parties represented in the Parliament, if they agree
"Young people have withdrawn from the protests after we announced our idea to convene a Grand National Assembly in order to change the constitution. This is an invitation to discuss our ideas – this will not be a document created only by GERB“, Karayancheva added.
"Today we honor the memory of a brave young man, the leader un Rhodopi mountain in past years – Momchil. This spectacular monument is a product of the joint efforts of scientists, donors and people from the region“, continued Karayancheva.
She expressed what an honor it is to be a patron of such an initiative led by Prof. Nikolay Ovcharov, Prof. Plamen Pavlov and people from Zlatograd. In her opinion we need such examples coming from the past of the Bulgarian nation more than ever before. It is high time that we remembered about his bravery and spirit 675 years after Momchil passed away. The young man protected the people and the region and nowadays his name is sacred, and as a legend he is another reason for us to be proud of our past, added Karayancheva.
She expressed her gratitude to anyone who helped so that the idea if honoring that man and his actions turned into reality. This is a lesson for patriotism and a victory of the memory against the oblivion.
The mayor of Zlatograd – Miroslav Yanev – was a guest of the honorable celebration. Prof. Ovcharov and Prof. Pavlov told the story of how their initiative for building a monument of Momchil turned into reality.
