The Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev (2012-2017) criticized the current one – Rumen Radev for his statement in the Parliament that the government should resign.
„A week ago the President appealed for resignations in the National Assembly before only a half of the MPs. I am deeply shaken of the fact that the President has brutally violated the Constitution and the nation saw it”, added Plevneliev in an interview for the Bulgarian Naitonl Television.
In his opinion populism should not be allowed to rule the state. Plevneliev mentioned the United States as an infamous example of a country torn up by citizens’ protests, violence, disunity and “an utter failure of democracy”.
Plevneliev appealed to everyone who desires for a change to come up with his own ideas so people can support his cause. “Currently Radev and the Bulgarian Socialists Party just insist on a resignation of the cabinet without knowing what to do after that happens”, he added.
