Siika Mileva, the spokesperson of the Prosecutor General, made a statement concerning the actions for the investigation and confiscation of objects bearing the marks of movable cultural values from the building of Nove International Ltd., positioned on Moskovska Street in the capital.
"The actions to confiscate the cultural values of Nove Holding and the Vasil Bozhkov Museum ended on October 1. They began on January 30th in connection with the initiated proceedings for the management of an organized criminal group for tax crimes.
Authorized people from the Trakia Foundation, the Ministry of Culture, restorers and specialists attended the confiscations. 6778 cultural values were gathered, but only 212 of them were registered by Bozhkov. The remaining 6566 parts are illegally acquired and kept by Bozhkov.
Most of them are stored in violation of the standards, while handwritten notes were found on the packaging, indicating various settlements in Bulgaria. They were illegally acquired and excavated by treasure hunters.
The Ministry of Interior guards the confiscated items. A forensic archeological expertise is to be appointed by foreign experts for the purpose of a complete expertise. Their price has been deliberately lowered. The items they have not been presented as a national treasure, so experts will give up-to-date cultural and historical value to each of the registered items.
In case of violations, the collection will be declared as public property.
