“The state and the tourism sector must join forces in order to deal with the economic crisis”, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism Mariana Nikolova said in an interview for the Bulgarian National Television.
‘More than 30,000 jobs were preserved under the 80/20 measure. The season isn’t good for the tourism. There is a chance that we make a compromise concerning the curfew for the holidays”, she pointed out.
„I have visited several winter resorts since Sunday – including Borovets and Bansko. I have issued an order that every restaurant or a place for entertainment should observe. Anti-epidemic measures such as social distance and disinfection are compulsory for ever hotel, lift or other facility. There will be a winter season, but it won’t be good for the tourism sector”, Nikolova added.
2.7 million Bulgarian citizens visited our resorts for the first 8 months of 2020 – it will be the Bulgarian and Balkan tourists that we rely on for the upcoming season”, the Minister continued.
