The United Patriots are pleased with the resignation of the agriculture minister Rumen Porojanov and Desislava Taneva who filled the vacancy. The “Movement for Rights and Freedoms” explained their vote against her with the fact that they do not support the government as a whole. The ex deputy of the prime minister Valeri Simeonov explained to the deputies that long ago he wanted to appeal for the resignation of Porojanov, but decided that it is not time for saying it out loud yet. “IMRO” does not grieve in the absence of the ex agriculture minister. “Volya” let the PM and the ruling partied decide whether and when such changes are necessary.
"We do not vote against the resignation, but against this government consisted of nationalists and populists”, said Halil Letifov, deputy of the head of the parliamentary group of the “Movement for Rights and Freedoms”. In his words the reason they did not support the resignation of Porojanov and the new agriculture minister Taneva is that they were voted together. “If we voted separately, we would support the resignation and vote against the new minister”, continued Letifov. He added that this is not a personal rejection of Taneva, but a denial of the government and its way of ruling.
"The change of the minister does not make any difference. We said that several times – this government is harmful for our country. Two years in a row we are witnesses of nationalism and populism”, said Letifov. He tore the arguments of Kornelia Ninova to shreds – that Delyan Peevski named Rumen Porojanov to be the agriculture minister. “There is no proof for that. Everyone is responsible for his own actions. Kornelia Ninova should explain why her party acts like this. They are part of the wave of nationalism and populism”, continued Letifov.
The ex Deputy Prime Minister Valeri Simeonov approved the resignation, which in his words comes a little late. "Desislava Taneva has already been an agriculture minister, she knows the problems in the field, but this will not make it any easier for her. I hope she stands her ground” – this was the comment of the GERB coalition partner. According to him there is a reason for such changes in the regional directories of the ministry.
