The member of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms in the Parliament – Delyan Peevski – proposed that the subsidy is BGN 0. In his opinion there should be a change in the way parties are financed.
“We won’t support GERB’s idea for BGN 1 per vote – we want it to be BGN 0. This is quite an example for populism. It will be good that we make it clear what happens after that – the parties will bankrupt if the subsidies decrease to BGN 1. If the financial model for the parties suffers any changes, than it should be BGN 0 per vote with open financing as the Americans do – with clear and obvious donors”, continued Peevski.
"if the financing model for the parties doesn’t change, there will be no political parties – they will be all property of the oligarchs”, said Peevski.
In his opinion there is a need of lowering the VAT rates preceded by consultations – “If there is a real reduction of prices – we want it; otherwise – there no point in that”, specified Delyan Peevski. “We are happy that the ruling party heard our opinion on the kindergartens – that we want them to be free for the people and new kindergartens should be built. They heard us for the VAT rates on books – we continue with the bread and medicine if this will give good results to the people”, concluded Peevski.
Another member of the Parliamentary group of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms – Yordan Tsonev – said that this is just the start of the consultations with pharmacists concerning the idea of lowering the VAT rates on the medicine.
