The Prosecutor’s office entered in an building with offices in the center of Sofia, meters away of the Parliament.
In the late afternoon the investigators arrived in the building where is the location of “Alfa finance holding” related to the businessman Ivo Prokopiev.
"In the end of last week the names of Prokopiev together with a few other people were put down as defendants on a case under the observation of the Prosecutor’s office. We have a permission to rummage the office of “Alfa finance holding”. The aim is to find documents for the purchase of Kaolin and its transactions that would be useful for our investigation. They do not concern the publications or media companies of the defendants. Our colleagues are currently working on the 7th floor”, said Frantisheck. “We have a permission to do the rummage. One of the defendants is there with our colleagues together with his own defenders”, continued the prosecutor.
There is also another investigation concerning Prokopiev – for laundering that has something to do with the privatization of Kaolin. The enterprise was privatized back in the ‘90s, and then it was acquired by “Alfa finance holding”. In 2012 it was sold to a German investor.
